Editing and Modifying Voicethread Comments
Commenting on a VoiceThread
Commenting on a VoiceThread allows you to add narration, provide information, respond to your classmates, and more. There are three primary ways to comment on a VoiceThread: audio, video, and text.
To comment on a VoiceThread, click on the "+" icon at the bottom of the slide.
This will bring up all of the commenting options. Click on:
to create a text comment
to create an audio comment
to create a video comment
For more information on adding comments see How to Comment or view the tutorial video.
Commenting on a Video
Commenting on a video in VoiceThread allows you to interact with the video as you record your comment. To begin, record a voice or video comment. As you are recording your comment, use the play button at the bottom or the slide to begin playing your video or use the scrubber ball on the timeline to scrub to a different location in the video. For more information see Commenting on Videos.
Direct Reply
If you are the owner or editor of a VoiceThread you may insert a comment directly after someone else's comment. This allows you to guide the conversation or provide feedback.
To insert a direct reply, click on the Direct Reply button inside a person's comment window.
This will open the commenting options at the bottom of the VoiceThread slide.
Create your comment. It will then be added directly below the comment to which you are replying. See Direct Reply to a Comment for more information. Please note that if you are using direct reply commenting, threaded commenting is not available.
Private Reply
The private reply feature allows you to have a private two-way conversation with someone who commented on the VoiceThread. The comment thread is visible only to you and the person in the conversation.
To insert a private reply, click on the Private Reply button inside a person's comment window.
This will open the commenting options at the bottom of the VoiceThread slide.
Create your comment. You will see your new private comment in the conversation channel. See Private Reply to a Comment for more information.
Threaded Commenting
If you own a VoiceThread you may turn on threaded commenting in your VoiceThread settings. Threaded commenting allows your participants to start a separate comment thread that branches from the main conversation.
To start a new threaded conversation, click the Threaded Comment button inside a person's comment window.
This will open the commenting options at the bottom of the VoiceThread slide.
Create your comment. You will see your new threaded comment in the conversation channel. See Threaded Commenting for more information. Please note that if you are using threaded commenting, direct reply commenting is not available.

Editing and Modifying VoiceThread Comments
Editing a Comment
Once you have created a comment, you may edit or delete it. If you created a text comment, you may edit it by clicking the pencil icon at the bottom of the comment bubble. See Editing a Comment for more information. If you created an audio or video comment, you will not be able to edit it. Instead, you will need to delete the entire comment and re-record.

You may delete any comments that you have created as well as delete any comments on VoiceThreads that you own. To do so, click on the comment and click on the trash can icon at the bottom of the comment button. See Deleting Comments for more information.
Changing the Order of Comments
You can change the order of comments in any VoiceThread that you own or can edit. To do so, locate the image for the comment you wish to move and drag it to the desired location. See Changing the Order of Comments for more information
Comment Moderation
Comment moderation allows you to review all comments before allowing others to see them. If comment moderation is enabled, participants and viewers cannot see one another's submissions unless the VoiceThread owner approves them. See Using Comment Moderation for more information.
