You can choose to authenticate your Office 365 logins by using the Microsoft Authenticator app to approve your logins. This mode of authentication is recommended by Microsoft.
Choosing authentication by Microsoft Authenticator
1. Make sure that the Microsoft Authenticator app for Android or iOS has been downloaded and installed on your cell.
2. The App is the first method on the initial multi-factor authentication screen. Press the Next button.
3. Add an account on the app on your phone, selecting Work or School for the type of account. Click the Next button on the computer screen.
4. Scan the QR code using the Scan QR prompt in the app on your phone by pressing the Work or school account link again and choosing Scan a QR code. Press Next after you've scanned the QR code.
5. A message will be sent to your Mobile App.
6. Switch back to the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and tap Approve to allow it.
7. You will get a message that the notification has been approved.
