What is a Course Banner?
A course banner is an image that you can add to your course to easily distinguish it from other courses. The banner will display at the top of your course page and on the course card in your Courses area.
For best results, your image should meet the following criteria:
- Format: JPEG or PNG
- Size: 1200 x 240 pixels minimum
- Aspect Ratio: 4:1
Please note that images that contain text do not scale well and your text may be cut off or difficult to read.
Add A Banner To Your Ultra Course
From your Course Content page, navigate to the Details & Actions menu and select Course Image.
This will open your Display Settings menu. Click on the Insert Image icon.
You may upload an image from your computer or add a royalty-free image from Unsplash.
If you are uploading an image, it should meet the following criteria:
- Format: JPEG or PNG
- Size: 1200 x 240 pixels minimum
- Maximum size: 10.24 MB
Once you have uploaded or selected your image from Unsplash, click Next.
You will then be prompted to reposition your image. Adjust the zoom of the image using a slider and select and drag what parts of the image become the course banner. Click Save to continue.
You will be brought back to your Display Settings. Add an image description or mark your image as decorative. Toggle the Course Banner to On in order to display your image at the top of your Course Content page.
Click Save to save your changes.
Add a Banner to Your Original Course
Go to your course Control Panel, select Customization and then select Teaching Style.
This will bring you into the Teaching Style area. Scroll down to Select Banner. Click on Browse Local Files to upload an image from your computer.
For best results, your image should be at least 1200 x 300 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:1. Please note that images with text do not scale well and your text may be cut off or difficult to read. Be sure to add alt text to your image.
Click Submit at the bottom of the page to save your banner image. Please note that you may need to refresh your page in order to view the banner.
