Zoom Cloud Storage Retention Update

Beginning October 3, 2022, Lesley University will be implementing a 6-month retention period for Zoom Cloud Recordings. If you recorded your meetings to the cloud and would like to keep them longer than 6 months, you will need to download them from the Zoom Cloud Storage.

Download Your Zoom Recordings

Zoom allows you to easily download your recordings from the cloud. Your recordings may download as multiple files, including an MP4 (video) file of the meeting and a transcript.

To download your cloud recordings, log Into Zoom using Single Sign On (SSO) and navigate to the Recordings area. Locate your recording and click on the menu button to the right of the recording (three dots icon). From the menu, select Download.

You will be prompted to download your recordings. You may save these recordings to your computer, cloud storage (such as OneDrive in Office 365), or an external drive.

See Managing and Sharing Zoom Cloud Recordings for more information.

Share Your Zoom Recordings in myLesley

You may share your Zoom recording in any myLesley course or organization by uploading your video to Kaltura Media. The recording will remain private and only those enrolled in your course or organization will be able to access it. Please note that users will not be able to download the recording from myLesley.

See Upload and post a video in myLesley via Kaltura Media for detailed instructions for uploading your video into myLesley.

Once your video is uploaded, Kaltura Media will add captions for better accessibility. Kaltura Media: Captioning Video Content will walk you through the process of editing the captions.

Upload Your Zoom Recordings to OneDrive

You may share your Zoom recording to anyone inside or outside of the university by uploading your recording to OneDrive. OneDrive allows you to share with specific people or share more widely. Your audience will be able to view the video online in OneDrive and, depending on the settings you choose, they may be able to download the recordings.

You may access OneDrive by signing in to Microsoft Office 365: http://lesley.edu/office365

See Share OneDrive Files and Folders for more information about the various sharing options available in OneDrive.
