Creating a VoiceThread

To begin, log in to Lesley's VoiceThread portal at http://lesley.voicethread.com. For more information on logging in or accessing VoiceThread see Accessing VoiceThread.

To create a new VoiceThread, click the Create button at the top of the VoiceThread page.

When creating VoiceThreads, please keep the following in mind:

Uploading or Importing Media

Once you have created your VoiceThread, you will be prompted to upload or import media to create your VoiceThread slides. There are two ways to add files from your computer to a VoiceThread:

• Drag your files from your computer and drop them onto the Create page 
• Click on Add Media and select My Computer. Select your files.

The files will upload and process, which may take several minutes. As soon as they are ready you will see them as thumbnails on your Create page.

While your VoiceThread is processing, the Thread Settings box will pop up. Enter a title for your VoiceThread and (optional) description and tags.

VoiceThread allows you to upload multiple types of files, including images, videos, presentations, and more. For more information on the file types that work best with VoiceThread, see File Types Accepted.

Commenting

Once you have uploaded your media you may add a comment. Comments may be audio, video, or text. For more information and instructions, see Commenting on VoiceThreads.

Editing a VoiceThread

You may edit any VoiceThread that belongs to you or to which you have editing rights. You may add or reorder slides, add or edit comments, or change the VoiceThread's settings. For more information, see:

Changing Your VoiceThread Settings

You may change the settings for your VoiceThread at any time. To do so, go to the Edit Page for the VoiceThread you wish to edit, click on the Options menu, and select Playback Settings. For more information, see Playback Settings and What Does Each Playback Setting Mean?
