About Tests and Surveys

Your instructor may assign tests to assess your mastery over course content and objectives. Once you have taken your test the answers are submitted for grading and the results are recorded. You may view your grades in the My Grades area once your instructor makes them available to you.

See Tests and Surveys for more information or view the Taking a Test video tutorial below.

Taking a Test

Do not refresh the page, close the window, or click the browser's back button while taking a test. Doing so will cause an error in the system. If you experience problems during a test, contact your instructor immediately.

To take your test, navigate to the test and click the title to open.

Click Begin to take the test. This will launch the test.

Test information, including instructions, is located at the top of the test. If you have any questions about the test, contact your instructor.

As you work through your test, answers are saved automatically. You may also click Save Answer next to each question or Save All Answers at the top or bottom of the page.

If your instructor associated a rubric with an Essay, File Response, or Short Answer question, click View Rubric to display grading criteria.

Once you complete the test, click Save and Submit to submit your test.

Tips for Taking Online Tests

Check your internet connection

While you may be able to use the Blackboard App to take tests, we strongly discourage it. When taking tests, we recommend using a computer and a reliable network connection.

Start your test as soon as you can

As a best practice, take your test as soon as it becomes available. If you run in to any issues during your test, reach out to your instructor and/or eLIS for assistance.

Read the instructions

If you have questions about the test or are having trouble understanding the questions, reach out to your instructor immediately.

Do not refresh the page, close the window, or click the browser's back button

Refreshing the page, closing the window, or clicking the back button will cause an error in the system. If you experience problems during a test, contact your instructor immediately.

Feedback and Grades

In some cases, your test may be graded automatically. If your instructor allows it, you may even see your score immediately after submitting the test. If your instructor does not allow you to see your score right away, or if your test has elements the instructor needs to grade (Essay, File Response, or Short Answer), you may view your grades and feedback in My Grades area. Feedback may include: score for the test, answers submitted, correct answers, feedback.

For more information on viewing your grades, see Viewing Grades in myLesley.

Surveys

Surveys are used for polling purposes and evaluations. Surveys are not graded and your responses are anonymous. For more information on the survey tool, see Tests and Surveys.
