What is a Course Banner?

A course banner is an image that you can add to your course to easily distinguish it from other courses. The banner will display at the top of your course page and on the course card in your Courses area.

For best results, your image must be at least 1200 x 300 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:1. Please note that images with text do not scale well and your text may be cut off or difficult to read.

Add a Banner From Within a Course

To add a banner from within your course, go to your course Control Panel, select Customization and then select Teaching Style.

This will bring you into the Teaching Style area. Scroll down to Select Banner. Click on Browse Local Files to upload an image from your computer. 

For best results, your image should be at least 1200 x 300 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4:1. Please note that images with text do not scale well and your text may be cut off or difficult to read. Be sure to add alt text to your image.

Click Submit at the bottom of the page to save your banner image. Please note that you may need to refresh your page in order to view the banner.

Add a Banner From the Course Card

To add a banner from the course card, go to the Courses area. You may need to toggle on the Course Card view at the top of the page.

Select the course you wish to edit and click the menu button (three dots) at the top of the card. Select Edit Course Image.

This will open the Course Image editor. Here you may upload a new image and enter alternative text for your image or mark it as decorative.

Click Save to save your changes.
