Name Pronunciation in Workday

You can now save an audio recording of your name pronunciation on your profile in Workday. This will help fellow Colleagues across the organization understand how your name is pronounced the next time they are in contact with you.

To setup an audio recording of your name, you can do it either on the Workday mobile application or from the Workday site. Depending on your preference. We do highly recommend to record your name pronunciation on the mobile application.

Workday Mobile Application

If you have not downloaded the Workday Mobile Application, click here to view a knowledge base article on how you would download and set up the Workday Mobile Application.

Once logged into the Workday Mobile Application, you will search for the Change My Name Pronunciation task. 

Once you select the task, you will see the action Add Audio. This is where you will be able to record your name pronunciation. Press and Hold the microphone button to start recording your name pronunciation. 

Note: If you have not already done so, you may need to give the Workday application permission to your microphone on your mobile device. 

Once you recorded your name pronunciation, you can replay the audio by clicking the Play action. If you are not satisfied with the recording, you can retake the recording by clicking Retake. Once you are happy with the recording, you can click Save to save the audio recording. 

Workday will then display an overview page. You can play the audio again in case you want to do one final review by clicking the Play action. You can delete the audio if you want to re-record by clicking the Trash action. If you are ready to submit your audio recording, you will click Submit. 

Note: We ask that your name pronunciation recording is professional. If not, it will be removed from your profile. 

Workday Website

There are two ways you can add your name pronunciation on the Workday website.

1. Search for the Change My Name Pronunciation task in the search engine.
2. Go to your worker profile. Select Actions --> Personal Data --> Change My Name Pronunciation. 

A pop-up will display where you will find Help Text and the action to record your Name Pronunciation.

You will click the Microphone action to start recording your name pronunciation. Once you recorded your name pronunciation, you can replay the audio by clicking the Play action. If you are not happy with the recording, you can click the Trash action to delete the recording and re-record your name pronunciation. 

Once you are happy with your recording, you can click Submit.

Note: Be sure to give the browser you are using access to your computer's microphone so you can record your audio. 

Note: We ask that your name pronunciation recording is professional. If not, it will be removed from your profile. 

Once they click the action, the recording of your name pronunciation will be played. 

In the near future if you ever want to change your Name Pronunciation, you will follow the same steps above by clicking the Change My Name Pronunciation task.
