Complete Your 2024 - 2025 Academic Year Self-Assessment

Please review this article for step-by-step instructions on how to complete your 2024 - 2025 Academic Year Self-Assessment.


To complete your self-assessment, you will login to WorkdayYou should find a task in your Awaiting Your Action inbox on the Workday home page. Click the task to begin your self-assessment.



Within the task, you will find helpful tools and resources on how to complete each section of your self-assessment. Please be sure to review the information before starting the self-assessment. 


To start the assessment, click the Get Started button.



On the left-hand side of your screen, you will find a navigational panel. This will tell you where you are in the process of completing your self-assessment. 


The first step is how you would rate yourself on your Competencies. Your assessment must include a rating (Developmental Opportunity, Meets, or Exceeds) and comments to support your rating. Once you rate yourself for each individual competency, Workday will take all your ratings and average a Calculated Rating on the bottom left. You will then leave a comment on your overall calculated rating. 


Once you have completed all of your ratings and your comments, you will click Next to move to the next step in your assessment. 



The next step is providing your rating on the Professional Goals you set for yourself, with your manager, earlier in the academic year. You will be able to make changes to the goals, if needed. 


You will include a rating (Deferred Goal, Developmental Opportunities, Meets, or Exceeds) for each individual goal. This is similar to the ratings in the competencies. A new rating (deferred goal) was added in the event that you were not able to complete your goal during the academic year. 


Once you have finished rating your goals and entering a comment, you will click Next to do a final review before submitting your self-assessment for your manager to review



You will be able to review your ratings and comments on both the Competencies and Professional Goals to see if there are any final changes you would like to make before submitting. If you wish to make an edit, you will navigate to the panel on the left-hand side and select the section you want to make edits. Once you have reviewed your assessment and do not need to make any changes, click Submit. The assessment will then be sent to your manager to do the manager's evaluation. 



Once your manager has completed their evaluation and has had a conversation with you to review their feedback, you will receive a task in your Workday inbox asking that you acknowledge that you had a conversation with your manager. You will click Get Started


Like your assessment, you will find a navigational panel to navigate your acknowledgement. The first step will be a summary. You will find an overview of the details of your assessment and your manager's evaluation. Once you review, you will click Next to go to the Acknowledgment section. 


From the drop-down, you will be able to choose the status of your acknowledgment.

  • Acknowledge Review without Comments
  • Acknowledge Review with Comments


Once you have chosen the appropriate status, you will Submit the task. The next step will be for your manager to acknowledge they had the conversation with you on your assessment. 


Once your manager has submitted their acknowledgment, the process will be completed. You can refer to your assessment whenever needed by navigating to your Workday profile. Clicking the Performance section and navigating to the Performance Reviews
