Increasing your microphone volume on Windows 10

If you are someone who moves around while you are in an online meeting, you might notice that people can't hear you when you aren't sitting in front of the computer. This article explains how to increase your microphone volume on Windows 10 when you're not facing the computer, so others can hear you better.


1. In the Windows search box type mmsys.cpl and press Enter to open up the Sound screen. You can also enter Sound in the search bar, then click on Sound Settings, then scroll down to Sound Control Panel on the right-hand side of the Sound window.

      

 2. Inside the Sound window, go to the Communications tab.


        

3. Select Do nothing under When Windows detects communications activity



4. Hit Apply to save the changes, then restart your computer.
