Complete Your Manager Assessment

Please review this article for step-by-step instructions on how to complete the manager assessment for your team member's 2024 - 2025 Academic Year Assessment.


To complete your evaluation, you will login to WorkdayYou should find a task in your Awaiting Your Action inbox on the Workday home page. Click the task to begin.



Within the task, you will find helpful tools and resources on how to complete each section of the evaluation. Please be sure to review the information before starting. 


To start the evaluation, click Get Started.


On the left-hand side of your screen, you will find a navigational panel. This will tell you where you are in the process.


The first step is completing your assessment of your team member's competencies. You will notice that you will find help text on top of the screen to help you navigate this page. Please rate your team member on each competency. You will also be required to comment on the rating chosen.


Next to your assessment and rating, you will find your team member's self assessment and rating. Once you have completed your rating and comment for each competency, on the bottom of the screen, you will find a calculated rating where Workday's provide an average rating. You will then enter an overall summary comment. Like each competency, you will find your team member's overall assessment and rating.


Once you have completed this step, you will click Next to move to the next section.



The next step will be to asses and rate your team members' Professional Goals. You will include a rating (Deferred Goal, Developmental Opportunity, Meets, or Exceeds). 


Once you have rated and commented on each goal, you can click Next to move to the next step in the process. 


The next step will provide you with an overall manager rating from both the competencies and professional goals. Click Next to review your evaluation.


On the last step of the process, Review and Submit, you will be provided with an overview of all your ratings and comments for your team member's competencies and professional goals. If there are changes you need to make, you will have to click the step on the left-hand side of the screen to navigate back to that page to make any changes. 


Once you have reviewed and are ready to submit, click Submit on the bottom of the screen. 


Once you have submitted your evaluation, the next step would be for Human Resources to review the assessment. Human Resources will move the evaluation to the next step or reach out to you directly if they have any questions.


The final part of the process is the most important part. Meeting with your team member. You will receive a task in your inbox that alerts you to HOLD and to have a conversation with your team member. Within the task, you will find a PDF of the assessment. We recommend that you download a copy of the PDF and print or review it with your team member while having your conversation with them. 


Once you have had the conversation with your team member, you may Submit the task. Your team member will then receive a task to acknowledge they have had the conversation with you on their assessment. 


Once your team member has completed their acknowledgment, you will receive a task in your Workday inbox asking that you acknowledge that you had a conversation with them. You will click Get Started


Like your assessment, you will find a navigational panel to navigate your acknowledgement. You will then find an overview of the details of your assessment and your evaluation. Please review and click Next to go to the Acknowledgment section. 


From the drop-down, you will be able to choose which status of acknowledgment.

  • Acknowledge Review without Comments
  • Acknowledge Review with Comments



You will be able to see your team member's comments, if applicable. Once you have submitted your acknowledgement, the process will be complete. Your team member will be able to refer to their assessment on their Workday profile whenever needed.
